Argh, I've done it again ... made promises of being a better blogger and then #FAILED at it. However, I am back to share some exciting things with you all in an effort to catch you up on what I've been up to in the Teen department.
First, as you may have noticed on the home page, I am in the process of reading the 2015 Nutmeg Nominees. This is a huge (but fun) undertaking because I like to get ALL the teen ones and ALL the high school ones and at least half of the Intermediate ones read before you all are out of school for the year. That way I can do what I like best about my library job and hook you up with the perfect book. The 2015 Nominees can't be officially announced until May 1st and, hopefully by then, I'll be ready to share some of the ones that I've really enjoyed with all of you.
In even more Nutmeg news (who thought there could be so much?), April is the month where you vote for your favorite 2014 Nutmeg Nominee. I have a pretty good idea on the one that I think might win the big votes, but, I still want you all to come down and vote for your favorite.
Moving on from Nutmegs, April events are still in the process of being planned. I'm trying to do some fun programs during April vacation. Right now we have a movie scheduled (Frozen!) and an Earth Day craft event that you can also participate in at Manross. Don't forget to check the Events tab to find out what's coming up.
Lastly, I don't know if you've noticed, but YA fiction is HUGE these days! There are so many YA books being turned into movies. I just saw Divergent a few weeks ago and now I'm gearing up for The Fault in Our Stars and The Maze Runner. Excitement! I have a chance to meet Jonathan Maberry at the end of May and I am going to BEG him to get Rot & Ruin made into a movie!
Guess that's it. Hope to see you all in the Teen department soon!
