November has always been one of those months that sort of slips through the cracks for me - nothing super-exciting really happens until Thanksgiving and, by that point, I've pretty much transitioned to "holiday" mode.
But today I started thinking - November is pretty awesome. It all started when I saw the first snowflakes of the season this morning. In case you didn't know ... I <3 snow. Like, seriously. There's also a lot to look forward to this November. Fans of The Legend novel will be excited to learn that the finale, Champion, is officially out - and on our shelves! (Well, hold shelves - if you want to read it, make sure to put your name on the hold list).
I'm also pretty pumped about two movies (both based on books) that are out this November. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak was an amazing read - not to mention, a total tear-jerker. I am very excited to see how it translates as a movie. Then, there's Catching Fire. I have had a little buzz of electricity surrounding me since November started for this movie. Not only was this my favorite story in the series, but the trailers for the movie look incredible! I cannot wait for this to come out.
Another reason why November is amazing - Thanksgiving. Specifically, Thanksgiving Day football. I'm pretty excited for the big BC/BE game this year. In fact, to help reign in my excitement, the Teen department will be hosting a Football Flick Fiesta on November 20th. This after-hours program will feature yummy tailgate snacks, a football-themed movie, and a raffle prize of tickets to the big Thanksgiving Day game. Sound like something you want to do?
